Role Overview:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Cinematographer based in Mumbai. The Cinematographer will be responsible for creating high-quality visual content for digital campaigns, branded content, commercials, social media, and promotional videos. The role involves planning and executing shoots, selecting camera equipment and lenses, designing visual aesthetics, managing lighting setups, and collaborating closely with directors, creative teams, and clients to bring concepts to life.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong cinematic eye, technical expertise, and the ability to transform creative ideas into visually compelling stories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute video shoots from pre-production through post-production.
- Develop visual styles, shot compositions, camera movements, and lighting concepts aligned with project objectives.
- Operate professional cinema cameras, lenses, gimbals, sliders, drones, and other filmmaking equipment.
- Design and manage lighting setups to achieve desired moods and visual quality.
- Collaborate with creative, marketing, and production teams to ensure visual consistency across projects.
- Scout locations and assess technical requirements for shoots.
- Maintain and manage camera, lighting, and production equipment.
- Ensure all footage meets quality standards for color, exposure, framing, and storytelling.
- Assist in directing talent and coordinating on-set production activities.
- Stay updated with industry trends, filmmaking techniques, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Cinematographer, Director of Photography (DOP), or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cinematography principles, camera systems, lenses, framing, and composition.
- Expertise in operating professional cinema cameras and filmmaking equipment.
- Advanced understanding of lighting techniques for indoor and outdoor productions.
- Experience with stabilization systems, drones, and motion-control equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with color grading workflows and video post-production processes.
- Creative storytelling ability with a strong visual sense and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced production environments.
- Degree or certification in Film Production, Cinematography, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred.
